Leveraging your existing 3D data to create work instructions and manuals.
This month I presented a brief talk to a customer on a few ways they can utilize existing data to improve upon and make their documentation processes more effective. Instead of waiting for engineers to finalize the product, I outlined ways they can use their current 3D CAD package(or any 3D package or combination of 3D packages in the same assembly) so everything is produced in Real-time. I like it because you are always working with the latest data set to create documentation – asap! I drew these assembly view photos in SolidWorks Composer, a program that rapidly presents a process with 2D and 3D graphical content all the while not having to wait for the actual project to be completed.
Take a look below to see how it’s done.
